Conceptualised by Sir Michael Hopkins, the finest exponent of modern architecture, and developed by Frayland L.L.C., the new Emirates Hills development will comprise of 20 single detached villas, ranging in size from 6,000-9,000 sq. ft., and featuring five to seven bedrooms each.
Said Mansour Al Othaimin, Executive Director, Emaar International: 'The Emirates Hills Signature Villas were envisioned as the primary address on The Montgomerie golf course, and in Dubai, and will soon be the ultimate destination for homeowners seeking luxury, exclusivity and privacy.
'For a signature golf course like The Montgomerie Dubai, and a development better known as the 'Beverly Hills of Dubai' with its premium lifestyle offer, it was imperative that we develop the finest of villas to complement the world-class portfolio.'
The striking 'Arabesque' architectural design of the villas marks Emaar's first-ever offering of contemporary Arab style architecture in its Emirates Hills development. Variations in size and design have been skilfully used to impart a distinct identity to each signature villa.
Said Joseph A. Tabet, Managing Director, Frayland LLC: 'Mr Alabbar specifically asked us to create a modern solution that addressed the changing lifestyles of Dubai residents and which shared a strong affinity with the culture and environment of the UAE. In response to that, we came up with the idea of developing a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Dubai home, replete with a facade and design that synergises with the local ethos, which is what the Emirates Hills signature villa represents.
'Sir Michael Hopkins, acclaimed for his modernist approach of 'truth to materials' and expression of structure, was the obvious choice for undertaking this unique challenge of merging the old with the new to create a villa development suiting both local and modern tastes.'
Traditional architecture is reflected in the inner courtyards, wind towers, arches, shaded terraces (logias) and local design motifs. Luxurious interiors, created through the use of modern furnishings and finest quality of materials, impart a sense of timeless luxury, which is at once both classical and comfortable.
'The challenge lay in creating a modern home with ample living space, light and balance of proportion, as characterised in traditional houses. At the same time, the focus was on optimising energy conservation and operational efficiency,' continued Tabet.
While proportion has been achieved through a uniform grid, a 32 per cent glass insulation in each villa ensures maximum sunlight without any disturbance to privacy. The latter has been achieved through the use of slide screens, flat screens and wind towers. The design and orientation of the villas further enhances privacy.
Residents will have access to the amenities at The Montgomerie golf course including the Golf Academy, golf pro-shop and driving ranges. Other facilities include round-the-clock security, pedestrian walkways, children's park and playground, gymnasium, swimming pool, floodlit tennis courts, fully featured spa, central mosque and access to satellite and cable television including High Speed Internet.
Al Othaimin is happy at the scale, size and dynamics of the villas. 'The creative talent of Sir Michael Hopkins coupled with the local expertise of Frayland has given shape to Emaar's vision of upscale homes which are unsurpassed in their quality of development, design and lifestyle.'
