Leading international company launches training initiative at the College of Technology in Jeddah

Under the slogan 'One Step Forward' Tetra Pak Saudi Arabia recently launched its new training and employment drive by holding a career day at the College of Technology in Jeddah.

Aimed at establishing a new workforce in various administrative, technological and management practices, this training initiative is in line with the national drive towards saudisation, and is particularly focused towards the colleges' most senior students and graduates.

Attended by nearly 300 students, Dr. Nasser Ba-Juba, director of the mechanical technology department at the college welcomed the initiative, confirming that the training programme is 6 to 12 months in duration - and can end up with a selection of the most capable students receiving an offer of employment within Tetra Pak, one of the world's leading packaging and processing organisations. "This is a great opportunity for young people to learn real skills that will take them forward into a career with tremendous prospects" he added.

Mr. Faisal Ghulam, human resources general manager at Tetra Pak Saudi Arabia expanded further on various elements of the 'One Step Forward' programme in his presentation, explaining that "It is essential for any company expansion plans to explore a local talent potential in order to secure future growth", elaborating on the programme he added "This programme is split into three distinct phases; definition, training & evaluation, and examination, and focuses mainly on; Production, Electronics and Electricity"
At the end of the presentation Mr Ghulam highlighted that the main objectives of the training are to identify the students that have the natural aptitude, drive and determination to learn and lead. He also assured that each trainee would receive a monthly remuneration of SR1,800 whilst undertaking the training programme.
