  • PRESS RELEASE

ACDelco, a global leader in automotive replacement parts and services and offering products for virtually all vehicles, has made a positive start to business in the Middle East region on the back of the fast-growing spare part market (aftermarket) this year.

In advance of its participation in Automechanika Gulf 2004, the Middle East's leading automotive aftermarket exhibition, the company said the Middle East automotive aftermarket is growing at a remarkable rate.

"The Middle East region is one of the world's fastest growing automotive markets and more cars on the road means a growing demand for spare parts and servicing," said Glenn Heller, ACDelco's Middle East manager, sales and marketing. "Customers are also becoming more sophisticated and are increasingly aware how essential genuine spare parts, expert repair and servicing are to the long term life of their vehicles.

"ACDelco's business in this region is growing remarkably. From parts, to service, to expert repairs, ACDelco is uniquely positioned to answer the needs and exceed the expectations of the Middle East customer - and that fact is being recognised across the region."

ACDelco supplies over 70,000 parts including batteries, spark plugs, filters, oil, brake pads, and air conditioning compressors that fit all vehicles including European, Japanese, Korean and American made cars.

The company opened its first regional ACDelco Service Centre in Sharjah twelve years ago. Today it ships thousands of automotive replacement parts every month from its $40 million Middle East Distribution Centre in Jebel Ali Free Zone to retail outlets and repair shops around the region.

The four-day Automechanika exhibition has traditionally attracted exhibitors from over 30 countries, who will join ACDelco in showcasing hundreds of brand names and products related to the automobile aftermarket. The event covers the full range of parts for motor vehicles as well as components for the drive, chassis, body, and electrics in addition to equipment for service and repair, tyres and batteries.
