  • United Arab Emirates: Sunday, May 23 - 2004 at 11:08
  • PRESS RELEASE

The first CIPD public programmes to run in Abu Dhabi will be launched on 19th June at Training Spaces, a brand new Abu Dhabi based training centre.

The programmes being offered are the Certificate in Training Practice and Certificate in Personnel Practice. Through these programmes the government driven initiatives towards the greater participation of nationals in the workplace, particularly in the arena of HR, are being supported.

The prestigious British institute the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) granted permission in early April for the UK based Bradfield Consulting, in partnership with the Dubai Media City based AMM UK, to offer CIPD programmes in Abu Dhabi and Qatar.

Successful completion of either programme leads to Associate Membership of the CIPD. The first programme started on 25th April at the Arab Educational Training Centre for Gulf States in Qatar. Delegates attended from the oil and gas sector, banking, health care and international universities.

Bradfield Consulting Ltd have two CIPD approved centres in the UK and have been delivering Certificate programmes in the UK for over eleven years.

Caroline Bradfield, Director of Bradfield Consulting, said: "Qualifications from CIPD mean proof of your professionalism and impact in the work place through independent assessment and recognition of your skills".

She further added that she is "delighted that Bradfield Consulting have been approved to offer these internationally recognised qualifications. This opportunity fulfills a real need for quality qualifications in Personnel and Training in the region"

Catherine Green, Managing Partner of AMM UK, said that she hopes these programmes will encourage more nationals to enter the HR arena. "By offering the CIPD programmes we are fully supporting the process of Nationalisation as the CIPD programmes enable those wanting to embark on a career in Training or Personnel to gain practical skills backed up by theoretical knowledge that enables them to become practitioners in either field. It is our hope that by running these prestigious programmes in Qatar, ladies particularly will have greater access to professional training and international qualifications".
