Relating to successes by ZAC's Classic, Cooline, Geoclima and Clima Tech brands, these projects range in scope from mini-splits to large-scale chillers and air-handling units for highly specialized applications.

In Saudi Arabia, ZAC is meeting the air conditioning requirements for the 'Strategic Reserves Project' of the Ministry of Defense / Saudi Aramco through a supply agreement reached with contractor, ABV Rock Group Sweden. ZAC will provide approximately 300 packaged and split systems, Air Handling equipment, and Fan Coil units of various sizes and cooling capacities at multiple sites. The value - including the supply of accessories - is worth a minimum of SR 3 million.

"This project also includes the supply of two specifically designed water-cooled Water Chillers, each with a 125-ton capacity. These remote controlled units were produced at our Geoclima factory in Italy, which is renowned for air and water-cooled chillers as well as for fan coil units," said Ahmed Abdullah Al Zamil, President, Zamil Air Conditioners. "They were produced for regular commercial applications and in this project, the customer was present to witness successful performance, functional and safety testing and inspections according to his specifications."

ZAC is also supplying 28 Classic air-handling units for Umm Al-Qura University. The modular packaged (PMX) and customized KW-series units have a combined cooling capacity of 2,400 tons and will be installed at the Girls College of Applied Sciences in Makkah.

In the healthcare sector, ZAC is supplying the International Medical Center, in Jeddah, a 200-bed multi-specialty hospital covering all areas of human health, with over 250 air-handling and fan coil units. These units correspond to a cooling capacity of 3,300 tons. Scheduled to open in mid-2004, the hospital is a joint venture between Dr. Walid Fitaihi and The Cleveland Clinic of the USA.

ZAC has also supplied three chillers to Volkswagen in the Chinese city of Changchon. The model GFC-B air-cooled water chillers with free cooling each provide a cooling capacity of 270 tons and have been produced by ZAC's Geoclima factory.

Volkswagen also uses ZAC products in some of its North America and European operations: in 2003 Geoclima supplied water-cooled chillers to the Volkswagen facility in Puebla, Mexico. Clima Tech, ZAC's Austrian-based developer and manufacturer of technology based air-handling units and related high-quality components for hygiene climate and clean room applications, has also supplied a number of air handling units to the company's Slovakian operations in 2001.

Cooline, ZAC's international flagship brand of air conditioners, has supplied English Biscuit Manufacturers in Pakistan with six large double skin air-handling units (KW series). These provide a total air volume of more than 214,000 cubic meters per hour. The units were supplied in a timeframe of only one month through National Engineering Enterprises, Cooline's representative in the country.

In Bangladesh, six Cooline ducted split systems (BL/CL) have been supplied to Dhaka Ladies Club, providing a cooling capacity of more than 100 tons. Cooline was the supplier of choice having been one of nine contenders for this undertaking.

Cooline has also supplied 16 ducted split systems (BL/CL) for Comilla Tower, a hospital cum shopping complex in Comilla City. The units will supply a cooling capacity of 160 tons for the first phase (shopping complex) of the project.

Clima Tech has launched new high quality air conditioning units for special applications, which are ideally suited for foodstuff, clean room and confectionary industry applications. Manufactured from stainless steel and with integrated refrigeration and control units, the 'Varioclim 30' unit is suited for clean room applications requiring high temperatures and humidity levels, while the confectionary industry units feature integrated titanium plate heat exchangers.

Six special application units (KW series) have been supplied to semiconductor innovator, Infineon Technologies, which is using them in the assembly and final testing areas of its microchip factory in Portugal. The units feature a total air volume capacity of 103,000 cubic meters per hour, and two of them include an air washer with external circulation pump and tank system.

"These examples of recent projects demonstrate the breadth of our cross-industry, cross-border solutions from Zamil Air Conditioners and underscore our leadership in the global climate control industry for both general and specialized applications," added Mr. Al Zamil.
