Iraqi dealer stocks up at Automechanika
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, May 26 - 2004 at 08:45
- PRESS RELEASE
An Iraqi spare parts dealer for cars and ball bearings, has made the arduous journey from Baghdad to Dubai, via Amman, to attend the specialist trade show Automechanika Gulf 2004.
"Attending one comprehensive show like this one allows me to visit all the manufacturers I need in the one place. Otherwise I will have to travel to 20 different countries looking for the products," said Sabah, owner of SMS Trading in Baghdad.
"At this show I can walk around at my own pace, talk to the manufacturers, compare parts and prices and make the deals in a span of a few days," he said.
"On average, our business sees a turnover of US$5 million in auto spare parts and ball bearings in Iraq."
On deals done at the show, he will only talk about the completed purchase of US$43,000 of ball bearings from Auto Spare Parts Trading.
"I'm still in the process of concluding several deals and I still have one more day at the show," Sabah said.
