Big wheels and big deals at Automechanika

Many products and stunning displays featured the latest innovations in the auto aftermarket industry.

One remarkable new product on show presented by Krueger & Goethe GmbH, a German Company specialising in electronic parts, is the knock-in-key system which enables you to open the car door simply by knocking a pre-defined pin code on the door. The system is mounted inside the car and is connected to the door. The system's microphone will record the users knocks and verify whether the given sign is identical to the predefined one. Knockin Key system is the first of its kind to be introduced in the market with many value added benefits, it makes theft virtually impossible as well as providing a solution for lost car keys.

Exhibiting at Automechanika is part of their global marketing strategy to tap into the Gulf markets. Krueger & Goethe GmbH Sales Partner, Mr. Kiehl said "so far the show has provided us with good quality contacts and several dealers and distributors have been interested in our product."

Another exhibitor, Sharjah-based Polimar, long respected leaders in the automotive re-finishing and body repairs industry, are also exhibiting at the show. Polimar is well known locally as they supply a full range of exotic paints from German suppliers, Standox, as well as a wide variety of other products and services for the use in UAE workshops.

On display were three recently completely customised cars including a VW Touareg, the new Beetle Cabriolet and a stunning Mini Cooper, all re-painted in simmering effervescent colours. Polimar completed a re-fit of the interiors too, with bespoke leather upholstery and colourful lambswool fitted carpets. Polimar can customize just about any vehicle with a present capacity of 5 - 6 cars per month, with plans to increase production substantially to 40 - 50 units in the near future.

According to Polimar's Managing Director, Ara Keusseyan, "The show is great for us. We like to participate and support it. It is the ideal platform to meet with customers to show our know how, showcase our products and create a forum with other people in the trade."
