Up-to-the-minute technology to be unveiled at the airport show

More than 120 companies will descend on Dubai next month to participate in the Airport Build and Supply Exhibition in an effort to capitalise on billions of dollars worth of airport development taking place in the region.
The exhibitor line-up will include suppliers of a huge range of specialised equipment and services; from escalators, elevators, and moving walkways, to security and lighting systems, telecommunications, automated baggage systems, fixtures and fittings, signage and graphics, aircraft hangers and fire stations.
Of particular interest at this year's show is first-time exhibitor, InVision Technologies. InVision is a leading provider of Explosives Detection Systems (EDS) for the aviation security industry. Used all over the world for screening passenger-checked luggage, InVision's primary markets include the international civil aviation community, the US Department of Homeland Security and other government and secured facilities.
InVision will use the Airport Show to show the Simulator Computer Technology (CT) for scanning passenger bags. In keeping with the company's commitment to supporting its' customers applications with numerous system options and services one product, the CTX 9000 DSI checks bags at a throughput rate of 542 bags per hour, making it the fastest FAA-certified EDS in the world. This product automatically detects explosives determined by the FAA to be a threat to commercial aviation.
InVision's newest CTX™ model is the CTX 2500, a smaller, lighter, more versatile and less expensive system designed for smaller airports, low-traffic areas in larger airports and mobile applications.
"Many companies like InVision use the Airport Show to launch new products because they are given direct contact with decision makers for airport projects worth an estimated $15 billion in the Middle East and North Africa," said Nick Webb, director of Streamline Marketing.
Held under the patronage of H.H.Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai (DDCA) and chairman of Emirates Group, the exhibition is a top priority event for suppliers to the civil aviation industry worldwide.
