Benetton now has a total of seven outlets in the UAE: six in Dubai, including a factory outlet, and one in Abu Dhabi.

Measuring 1,600 square feet, the new outlet is located on the upper level of Abu Dhabi Mall among international brands like Aldo, Virgin and Swatch. Around 50 per cent of the mall is made up of top international brand name stores.

"There is good growth in the Abu Dhabi fashion retail market," said Ajai Dayal, General Manager, Retail and Marketing, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, sole distributor of Benetton in the UAE. "Habits are changing with buyers looking for better shopping opportunities in the city. The success of Abu Dhabi Mall shows that the UAE capital can rival Dubai as a optional quality shopping destination."

Mr.S.B.Jeyaseelan, Group General Manager, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group said at the press conference: "This outlet expands our presence in the UAE and ensures that our customers in the capital can continue to enjoy the Benetton reputation for choice and quality."

The Abu Dhabi Mall Benetton store will stock the full range of Benetton clothing available in the UAE, including the latest spring/summer collection.

The Dhs500 million Abu Dhabi Mall opened at the beginning of 2001 and covers 200,000 square feet. It has 200 shops, a Cineplex with 800 seats, and it attracts over 20,000 people a day.
Mr.Jeyaseelan said: "Fashion trends in Abu Dhabi are different and so is the clientele. We hope to attract a larger, younger, more fashion conscious audience for Benetton's casual designer wear. The interior of the store follows Benetton's refurbished outlets in Dubai, creating a comfortable yet stylish ambiance."
