Trend Micro promotion highlights SMB

It has been found that many SMB organizations have a greater risk from dangerous virus attacks because they have little or no in-house IT support to provide up-to-date advice on protection. For this reason, Trend Micro, is offering SMB players across the region the chance to sample its range of specialist SMB applications with a free CD, containing its SMB product, for a 30-day evaluation.

'The SMB sector has been a neglected market,' said Justin Doo, Managing Director of Trend Micro in the Middle East and Africa region. 'Small and medium businesses are vulnerable to the same security problems as enterprises, but often do not have the staff and technical resources to mount effective protection strategies.'

Up until now, many of the Middle East's 30,000 or so, SMB organizations have been unwilling to buy a comprehensive virus protection solution because of the lack of product tailored to meet their needs. The market segment has largely steered clear of enterprise-level solutions - which until recently were the only comprehensive virus protection on the market - because of the expense and difficulty of implementation.

In recent months, however, global virus outbreaks such as Nimda Slammer, MSBlast and SASSER have hit SMB organizations hard, making many painfully aware of the necessity of watertight protection.

The Trend Micro SMB range is an advanced portfolio of integrated antivirus and anti-spam products designed with SMB organizations in mind. The Trend Micro SMB solutions offer comprehensive protection at every level, from the server to individual workstations, examining data before it reaches the network.
