int@j launches public relations training to enhance communication capabilities of Jordanian IT companies

int@j, the Information Technology Association - Jordan and Spot On Public Relations, the region's first and largest ICT communications agency, are to hold a series of public relations training sessions for int@j members in a bid to further enhance the communication skills of Jordanian ICT companies.

The training sessions, which will be held in June and July 2004, are the latest of a number of annual joint training initiatives that have been conducted by int@j and Spot On over the past two years.

"Our goal in int@j is to empower Jordanian companies and help them in promoting and raising their capabilities, to further spread awareness about their achievements in the regional markets," said Bilal Abuzeid, Acting CEO of int@j. "Public relations, spreading awareness of the capabilities of our sector, is important to us all and we see these training sessions as an important contribution to honing the marketing and promotion skills of Jordanian ICT companies. These courses have consistently been a great success and we're delighted to be able to carry out this new series."

The four training sessions will be conducted by experienced senior public relations consultants from Spot On. The first two training sessions will be held on 8th and 9th of June, and will tackle ways to optimize media communications such as press releases and using existing successes to drive further sales in target markets. The third and fourth training sessions will be held on 12th -13th July and will share with participants ways of making the most of often limited resource to gain maximum benefits from sponsorship and event opportunities, as well as building interview management skills.

"Jordanian companies have a lot to talk about: the sector may be relatively small today, but it is vibrant and skilled and has scored significant regional and international successes. One area where we and int@j both feel that the sector could be making more of its resources is in promoting those successes and gaining recognition for the undoubted excellence available from Jordanian ICT companies." said Alexander McNabb, group account director at Spot On Public Relations. "Public relations and communication skills are key and highly cost effective tools for companies to reach customers in regional and international markets."
