Intel Centrino mobile technology to support online learning at Abu Dhabi Men's College

Intel today announced that the Abu Dhabi Men's College will utilize the unique features of notebook computers based on the Intel Centrino mobile technology as it continues its PC refresh program to complete the deployment of laptop classrooms that will replace computer labs throughout the campus.
The Abu Dhabi Men's College has opted for mobile computing as the optimum vehicle to provide students with early exposure to the versatility that this innovative technology brings to both personal and working life. The college prides itself on being the pioneer in exposing future generations to premium technologies and on being a regional driving force for early adoption of new educational approaches.
"Mobility in education is opening the door towards brand new teaching and learning methods, never before have students or teachers had so much flexibility to be creative and enjoy what they do everyday, "said Dr. Tayyeb Kamali, Director of Abu Dhabi Men's College1 "By taking online courses and having access to up-to-date worldwide information, the students will be in an excellent position to face the challenges of the business world. Mobile computing has created a transformed learning environment where students can feel at ease to learn at their leisure and still achieve excellent results," he added.
The 15 year old university is strongly focused on online learning to provide students with an even innovative learning experience.
"By replacing desktop PCs with notebook computers based on the Intel Centrino mobile technology, the Abu Dhabi Men's College, in its forward-thinking academic vision is an inspiration to other colleges around the region. The college faculty and IT department have fully understood the capabilities of a world without wires, and have adopted it to ensure their students are provided with the technology that is representative of the world that they will evolve in once they join the workforce" said Gilbert Lacroix, Intel's GM and director of government and public affairs in the Middle East and North Africa.
This project marks the continued adoption of the Intel Centrino mobile technology in the education sector in the UAE and is reflective of the increasingly strong wireless infrastructure in the region.
