BenQ delivers hours of DVD-quality storage
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, June 12 - 2004 at 11:26
- PRESS RELEASE
BenQ, the Middle East's leading provider of digital lifestyle technology has announced the release of a new double layer DVD recorder, offering unrivalled storage capacity and recording quality, and full compatibility with playback machines.
"People have long been used to the unparalleled quality of DVD technology; now we are offering them the ability to capture that quality themselves," said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East. "We were the first vendor to offer a high-quality 8x DVD+R-speed recorder; now we are pleased to be first to market in the region with a double-layer recorder."
Developed in cooperation with Philips, who first announced the development of double layer technology in October 2003, the DW830A offers the best quality and highest storage volume currently available in a DVD recorder. "As always, we have researched our market, and we think customers will respond with enthusiasm to this latest BenQ innovation," added Dung.
Advanced technology ensures that the DW830A's recording quality is unmatched. It features the WOPC (Walking Optimal Power Calibration) algorithm, which evaluates the writing quality during recording, adjusting writing power to guarantee quality over the whole disc. This is in contrast to other drives, which preset the writing power before any data is transferred.
Supported by BenQ's Q-Video application, enabling users to issue commands simply and easily, the DW830A supports the straightforward transfer of digital footage on to a DVD disc without a complicated and time-consuming process of capturing, rendering, burning and authoring.
"This latest BenQ innovation confirms us as a leading player on the cutting edge of the region's technology sector," said Dung. "We are at the forefront of the dynamic DVD recorder market, in terms of both product development and sales, and look forward to announcing more ground-breaking DVD products later in the year."
