Prior to this, he held the same position at Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Mr. King held managerial assignments with the world's top hotel chains such as The Wyndham Hotel in the USA and Hilton International in the Far East.
Mr. King, or Doug to the Dusit team, has had 14 years experience managing flagship resorts and city properties in the Asia Pacific region. With an early background in Food & Beverage, he has built a reputation for achieving highest revenue-generating business as well as quality service.
"My hands-on involvement with the Dusit team in their day-to-day guest service will consistently motivate and lead them towards achieving highest levels of hospitality," Mr. King remarked. His first priority, however, is to get to know all the Dusit Dubai team at every level, along with guests and business partners.
Mr. King also possess important qualities that include excellent attention to details, maintaining high service standards, a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to foresee a larger picture and deliver the best possible business results in revenue and service.
"Dubai has and is developing at a very rapid pace making it a competitive destination world over, and Dusit Dubai has to maintain its fair market share in the aggressive hotel sector" he remarked, when asked his view on Dubai as a destination. "The hotel industry has achieved very high standards in Dubai in terms of service and products" he added.
