Vatché Yergatian promoted to General Manager of the Amman Marriott Hotel

Anton Najjar, the Area Vice President of Marriott International for Middle East and Africa, has just announced the promotion of Vatché Yergatian to General Manager of the Amman Marriott Hotel effective July 1st, 2004.

Of Armenian origin and with dual citizenship, American and Jordanian, Vatché brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He is an accomplished hotel executive with over 25 years of domestic and international experience in food and beverage, rooms operations and operations training.

Vatché began his career with Marriott back in 1984 at the Amman Marriott Hotel as Catering Service Manager. In July 1987 he was promoted to Director of Catering. In June 1990, Vatché transferred to the Warsaw Marriott Hotel as Director of Catering, and in September 1990, he was promoted to Complex Manager and in 1992 he became Director of Restaurants and finally in 1993 he was promoted to Director of Food & Beverage at the Warsaw Marriott.

In 1995 Vatché transferred to the Beirut Marriott Hotel as Director of Food and Beverage, where he was a member of the pre-opening team. In 1998 Vatché transferred to the USA where he became the Director of International Operations Training, based in Washington DC. In April 2002 he returned to Jordan as Resident Manager of the Amman Marriott Hotel, and in December 2002 was promoted to Hotel Manager until the present.

Vatché lives in Amman with his wife Rosalie, and they have two college bound children; a daughter, Talin and son Mesrob. Talin will soon graduate from Marymount University in Virginia as a fashion merchandiser. Mesrob will soon join the Culinary Institute of America in New York to accomplish his dream of becoming a certified chef. Rosalie has been working in the education field for the past 12 years.
