The biggest souq in the world
Emaar Properties is developing the world's biggest ever shopping mall at the same site that the world's tallest tower, Burj Dubai, will be built. Dubai Mall features 5.6 million square feet of retail space, and is an amalgamation of approximately ten to fifteen individual malls or niche product markets. Emaar Chairman Mohamed Al Alabbar says he expects to award a construction contract for the Dh2.6 billion mall in a few weeks.
