A suite of 30 'Skillsoft' courses, ranging from business strategy to HR, management and leadership, professional effectiveness, IT and sales/marketing, will be made available to MMI staff and delivered through the company's intranet, creating access to training in the workplace and, via remote access, at home.

MMI's Head of HR, Mr Ashok Kapoor, explains: "MMI's training needs are evolving quickly to keep pace with the dynamic developments within the business. Delivering high quality, flexible training modules to the desktop makes eLearning a very attractive tool, both for the learner and the company. However, its value also lies in the rich, highly interactive content that not only stimulates the individual learner but also enhances the quality of classroom interaction in trainer-led workshops, which complement the online modules.

"eLearning puts the learner firmly at the centre of the training process, empowering staff by connecting the learner directly to the content, rather than being tutor-dependent. With this empowerment comes responsibility enabling employees to take greater ownership of their own development."

Paul Gledhill, director of XpertLearning, adds: "eLearning is rapidly developing in the region as companies increasingly appreciate its benefits, such as improved training efficiency and results, and greater flexibility. The elimination of travel and accommodation costs and reduced staff "down-time" to attend training courses result in time and cost savings, while eLearning can also complement and enhance the efficiency of traditional classroom-based training, as part of a blended learning solution."

XpertLearning is a total eLearning solutions provider, based in Knowledge Village, providing consultancy and content-rich eLearning solutions. The company works as a business partner with 'SkillSoft', the world's largest and most experienced eLearning company, and offers over 2,000 courses.

MMI, a subsidiary of the Emirates Group, is a marketing services company providing marketing and distribution support to the leisure, corporate and consumer retail markets of the UAE and Oman. The company represents and retails some of the world's best-known consumer brands and is also the franchise holder for Costa Coffee in the UAE, as well as managing its own-brand restaurant chain, 'Seasons'. MMI also creates, manages and supports some of the biggest entertainment and community events in the UAE.
