The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation hosted an award ceremony last week at Mina Al Salam in honor of the employees who were nominated and received the Dubai Award For Government Excellence and the Dubai Quality Award 2003.

They all paid tribute to the vigilant dedication shown by the winners and nominees of the awards.

Sultan Bin Sulayem stated that Dubai is currently undergoing a phase of challenging competition, remarkable development and a boosted trade movement that demands all employees under the vast corporation to offer their utmost efforts, and to unceasingly search for development, training and improvement in order to keep up and even supercede today's demands. Therefore, in quest for constant excellence, several advanced training courses conforming to international standards are being applied.

"Today we are gathered here to celebrate and honor our colleagues in the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation who have won the prestigious Dubai Award For Government Excellence. We believe that we will continue to encourage them to maintain the levels of excellence they have achieved, and to urge our nominees and every employee to unceasingly endeavor to show the same dedication in their professions."

He also stated that a sense of challenge and an innovative attitude are among the most prominent features of success, which in turn, gives great importance in providing the opportunity to every employee to offer their concepts and suggestions that can help in developing a work process. "In spite of the various awards received by the Corporation and its employees, there is no reason to relax and slow down. Although it was a challenge to continuously compete and excel in the Dubai Awards, the real challenge is yet to come, and that is maintaining and superceding the quality of work achieved."
