- PRESS RELEASE
More than 25 UAE and region-wide CIOs from major government organizations and large private companies attended and participated in the Citrix Systems presentation, held yesterday at Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
Speaking on 'Citrix strategy and SAP/Citrix partnership', Antoine Aguado, Regional Manager for Citrix Systems, in the Middle East, said: "The presentation was different as it was more of an interaction with users of Citrix Systems and SAP software that centered around sharing the benefits, experience and day-to-day issues that normally emerge in IT management."
He added: "The seminar has helped organizations currently using our software solutions to understand what the Citrix / SAP alliance can offer and how they can improve efficiency to its maximum at all levels by using our solutions. At the same time, potential customers have attended in order to have a clearer insight into the overall solutions that are available"
"The participation by some of our most prominent and potential clients including Al Futtaim Group of companies, Adnoc, Adco, Mashreq Bank from the UAE and Sabic, Aramco from Saudi Arabia, is an indication of the awareness among the CIOs relating to the operational efficiency of Citrix systems." he added.
Mr. Aguado highlighted the benefits by saying, " The Citrix solutions enable organizations to centrally install, manage, deploy and support SAP GUI, other applications and information on servers, aggregate applications and information securely into a web portal and access applications from virtually any device securely over any network."
Mr. Reiner Schmitt, IT Manager, SAP AG, speaking at the seminar said: "In 1997, SAP conducted an evaluation process that resulted in measures that could offer a way out for companies looking for reducing costs. And from 1998 onwards, SAP began providing flexible systems that resulted in potential cost saving for corporations."
"Citrix enables SAP user interface to be installed, managed and deployed from central farms, enabling users to enjoy high-performance access over any network. SAP uses Citrix technology to manage and deliver a vast array of applications to approximately 30,000 employees, while Citrix operates its global business on SAP," concluded Schmitt.
Citrix and SAP are planning more such seminars and presentations across the region in the coming months.
