Dubai-Based Solutions Middle East bags international contract for web content management system
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, June 21 - 2004 at 14:01
- PRESS RELEASE
Solutions Middle East, a leading web and communication technology solutions provider based in the UAE, announced today that it has won an international website contract from JMH Fosroc.
Several international web development companies from UK, Denmark, Dubai, HongKong and India had fiercely contested for this prestigious project. After a rigorous evaluation, spanning across six months, the contract was finally awarded to Solutions Middle East, Dubai. By winning the coveted deal, Solutions Middle East has proven that companies from the region have the technical prowess to compete internationally in the technology sector.
Prior to this project, Fosroc had various regional websites created and maintained by the respective regional offices. Says Warren Albutt, International marketing communications manager, JMH Fosroc: "After Fosroc was acquired by the JMH group a strong need was felt to project a unified brand message of JMH Fosroc across its websites globally. We decided to have an international home page for Fosroc with a common website layout and theme for all countries, reflecting the JMH Fosroc look and feel. The regional home page of the various countries would be accessed by the web visitor by selecting the specific country link."
Another issue under consideration was the cost of managing the various regional websites. "We incurred considerable collective costs on the various regional web development companies for maintaining the regional sites, both from a content management and hosting perspective. A central global website for JMH Fosroc, with regional subsections, managed by a CMS and hosted on a central server would substantially reduce the cost per site," said Tony Lopes, Group IT manager, JMH Fosroc. "An additional benefit of this setup would be to achieve centralised administration and local content management."
A few compelling reasons for choosing Solutions Middle East as the implementation partner for this initiative included: track record and experience in implementation of content management systems for leading organisations in UAE, in-house creative web designing skills and most importantly, the fact that they had an extremely easy-to-use and cost effective web content management system - WebCOMS - that met all the web content management requirements that JMH Fosroc had aspired for.
"We are very proud to have been able to compete internationally and win this prestigious contract," said Ajit Jose from Solutions Middle East. "When the project would be finally completed, regional business managers from Fosroc would be able to manage contents for 22 regional sites in 19 languages without having to depend on regional web development companies."
WebCOMS allows business users/content authors to add content to their website or intranet from any location using a simple web browser and a user friendly editor that demands little or no web programming skills. Besides this, another key feature of WebCOMS is the availability of over forty out of the box modules that are available to quickly deploy and substantially reduce the implementation time frame.
"Solutions Middle East provided a solution that reduces our IT infrastructure operating costs since there is no need to employ extra manpower to manage website contents- and by empowering and encouraging regional business users to manage and update the website, we will be able to better utilize our corporate knowledge base," continued Warren.
With this deal, JMH Forsoc joins Solutions Middle East impressive client list of WebCOMS such as Siemens, Abu Dhabi Municipality, American Business Council, Dubai Refreshment Company (Pepsi Distributors), Star Vision, Motivate Publishing, Simatech Shipping, Mednet - to name a few.
