Samsung unveils X430 mobile phone with 65,536 colour screen in Middle East

Samsung Electronics, the world leader in digital technology, has unveiled SGH-X430 mobile phone with 65,536-colour screen that surpasses all other existing screens with its genuine colour display.
"Samsung understands, appreciates and responds to the tastes and preferences of the new generation of mobile phone users. In addition to other features, our research shows that users appreciate sleek and slim designs, and X430 encapsulates all these requirements," said Steve Han, Senior Manager-Telecommunications, Samsung Gulf Electronics.
Samsung's X430 is part of the company's latest range of TFT colour display screens in mobile phones. Weighing 83gms, X430 is available in metallic silver colour and has 12 wallpapers and 40-chord polyphonic ringtones embedded. In addition, Samsung Fun Club website provides more wallpapers and ring tones that users can download. Other rich features in the phone include, WAP1.2, Java™ application, personal organizer: calendar, clock, alarm, world time, currency converter, calculator, phone book (up to 500 entries) and games.
"Samsung was the pioneer in introducing the best TFT colour display screens in mobile phones and was also the first company to introduce dual LCD phone technology that has become an industry norm in the folder phone market. Innovation based on customer feedback is key to our growth worldwide and it will enable us to rapidly gallop towards the number one position in the Middle East," added Han.
"In terms of colour display mobile phones, the recent GfK research data (a leading European research company) highlights the exponential growth in the colour display mobile phones, in markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan and Iran. Samsung is a key driver of colour mobile phones in the region and has sold more number of colour units in the first quarter of 2004 as compared to the same time last year," said Ramdas Rajamani, Marketing Manager of Samsung Gulf Electronics.
"Samsung aims to differentiate its products by constantly incorporating new and innovative design and technology elements that deliver tangible value to customers," concluded Rajamani.
