LG enters Saudi notebook market with LM Series
- Saudi Arabia: Thursday, June 24 - 2004 at 11:51
- PRESS RELEASE
Global and regional digital leader LG Electronics is expanding into Saudi Arabia's lucrative notebook market with the launch of its Centrino-equipped LM and LS Series.
"LG is already number one in Saudi Arabia for computer monitor sales, and this latest product launch will reinforce LG's position in the important IT sector in the Kingdom," said C.K Cho, General Manager of LG Electronics Saudi Arabia. "The LM notebook is a highly competitive package, with the latest features, clever design and it is attractively priced."
The LM50 and LS50 have the longest battery life of 10 hours and the slimmest design while still boasting an impressively wide LCD screen; the LM50 has a 15-inch screen. The LM Series uses LG's proprietary 'Battery Maximising' technology to get the most out of the battery by suspending power to unused devices.
The notebook is equipped with an integrated IntelŪ PentiumŪ M Processor, the latest Intel 855 PM/GM chipset and an Intel Pro/Wireless LAN card. IntelŪ Centrino™ Mobile Technology provides for simple wireless computing; a high performance Quad Band Antenna ensures a wide range of reception bands for highly efficient wireless communication.
A silent cooling system, which means the LM notebook can be happily operated on a person's lap for long periods, is another distinctive feature, along with the product's magnesium and carbon fibre body - ultra-light construction used in the aerospace industry for its heat resistance, durability and strength.
The notebook's two-tone black and silver design, and distinctive blue operating light, means LG's latest notebook product is as aesthetically pleasing as it is highly functional.
The LM Series' large screen is more than a third brighter than conventional LCDs and boasts ATIŪ graphic accelerator technology to deliver the highest quality and fastest 3D graphics.
As you would expect, LG's stylish notebook is easily compatible with a host of technology. It is connectable with home AV equipment, TV and projector, and its IEEE 1394 port allows for the transfer of high-quality digital video.
The SD memory card slot is a handy device for direct downloading and uploading with PDAs, digital camcorders and cameras, and MP3s. The LM Series also has three USB ports for high-speed data transmission, a printer port, and an IrDA port for infrared communication.
