The training program was coordinated with major British telecommunications companies. The participants were divided into 3 teams so as to develop their skills on competitive basis. The first team will attend a specialized practical course in networks technologies and communications appliances used by customers, while the second team is to undertake a course in messaging systems and data services. The third group will focus on wireless applications and mobile phones.
'Etisalat exerts all efforts necessary in its drive to strengthen its national technical specialists by providing them with competitive qualifications that enable them to deal with the requirements, challenges and the consecutive developments of the future' said Mohammed Sultan Alqadi, General Manager, Etisalat -Ras Al Khheima- and the head of Etisalat committee for technical workforce Emiratisation and CEO, Etisalat Academy.
Abdul Aziz Al Sawaleh, Vise President and Executive Manager of Human Resources and a member of the board of directors, Etisalat Academy, has pointed out that Etisalat is deeply proud of the fact that its national technicians are becoming additionally qualified through specialized programs and courses in a bid to increase the representation of national in Etisalat's technical workforce through the integrated Nationalization strategy undertaken by the corporation in line with Governmental directions pertaining to this vital and important sector. Etisalat is always committed to developing the national workforce so as to strengthen its ties with the community whom it is serves by providing it with the best and the most developed communication technologies.
Commenting on the specialized training program, Mr. Doaa Fares, General Manager, Etisalat academy said: 'the program was specifically designed so that it addresses the most innovative applications and systems in signal tracking, maintenance, compatibility of performance and efficiency, which represent the latest technologies being internationally used by the communications services companies'.
'We made sure that the candidates for this scholarship were selected according to the most rigorous standards, in coordination with the human resources managers of the corporation. This was not simply intended to honor those distinguished among them but also to build a strong base of national workers that are able to deal with the latest innovations in the field of telecommunications.''
This training program is an extension of the of communication science diploma which is granted every year by the Academy to the holders of high school degrees. The candidates will be accompanied on their scholarship by a group of supervisors so as to maximize the benefit from the training course. The Academy's internal training program lasts for 18 months through which the participant get prepared for a technical diploma in communications technologies provided by the British 'City and Gills' body. Afterwards, the participants move to a practical phase that lasts from 3 to 6 months. Subsequently, they join the technical team of Etisalat which is currently planning to conclude agreements with a number of local leading companies and corporations to build a qualified technical workforce through similar training programs.
Etisalat Academy sends 30 national technicians on scholarship to the UK
As part of its continuous efforts to empower national specialists in the various applications, technologies and sciences of telecommunications; Etisalat Academy has sent on scholarship 30 distinguished national technicians to the United Kingdom to participate in a specialized training program.
