  • PRESS RELEASE

DAMAC Properties announced yesterday the awarding of several multi-million Dirhams subcontracting projects related to the on-going construction of its first 40-storey freehold deluxe property, Marina Terrace, on Dubai Marina.

The largest freehold property developer in the UAE announced that several companies across the UAE have won the lucrative subcontracting projects that are currently being implemented on site and are expected to be finished on time of completion of the entire project by May 2005.

Juma Al Majid Establishment was awarded three contracts for Marina Terrace; and one contract each was awarded to Alico and Ali Moosa and Sons. Offering one, two and three bedroom apartments and duplexes, the 189 free hold units in Marina Terrace is considered one of the finest properties in Dubai offering unimpeded panoramic views stretching across the waters of the Marina.

Peter Riddoch, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DAMAC Properties explained that the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) subcontract was awarded to Juma Al Majid Establishment.

"Juma Al Majid Establishment was also awarded the installation of elevators at Marina Terrace. We will install four lifts to serve the tower and two lifts for the podium. The elevators have already left their country of origin and we expect the installation to start on site very soon," Riddoch noted adding that MEP works at Marina Terrace are on schedule.

Also, Riddoch said that Juma Al Majid won a third contract related to the installation of the hydraulic system for the property's window cleaning. The hydraulic system is designed to conceal the boom that will service the entire 40 floors property, incorporating the latest window cleaning boom technology in the world.

Ali Moosa and Sons have been awarded the carpentry and joinery work for the entire property while the aluminium curtain walling for Marina Terrace was awarded to Alico, who are already on site.

"The curtain walling for Marina Terrace is unique because it includes a lot of Aluminium cladding, giving a distinct feature to the property, while the glass used will provide good insulation during the summer months," Riddoch pointed out.

He added that construction of the 40 floors structure was proceeding three weeks ahead of schedule and that all the units in the property will be delivered on time to their owners by May 2005.

DAMAC Properties is currently in the process of constructing and selling various freehold apartments in 9 buildings across major master developments in Dubai in Dubai Marina, Jumeriah Lake Towers, Jebel Ali and Jumeirah Palm Islands, as well as in the Dubai international Financial Centre (DIFC).
