- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, June 30 - 2004 at 13:25
- PRESS RELEASE
As the most prominent exhibitor within the GITEX 2004 exhibition, Oracle Corp, the world's largest enterprise software company, will demonstrate its revolutonary Grid Computing technologies powered by the latest releases of the Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Application Server 10g.
In addition to showcasing these solutions, the business benefits of the Linux platform will be a major area of focus for Oracle at GITEX this year. Visitors to Oracle World will see how deploying Oracle's technology on Linux helps companies reduce costs and increase the performance of enterprise applications. More than 35 Oracle partners are exhibiting within Oracle World, and a number of regional independent software vendors (ISVs) will be demonstrating the industry-specific solutions they have developed on the Oracle technology platform.
"We're currently witnessing two significant trends in the Middle East's business community - smaller and mid-sized companies are investing more in technology traditionally reserved for the larger enterprises, while organizations of all sizes are closely linking their technology choices to return on investment and the actual value these solutions deliver," commented Ayman Abouseif, Senior Marketing Director, Oracle Middle East & Africa.
"Whether a company needs to automate and centralize its business processes, develop secure and reliable applications, or simply reduce the costs associated with its IT department, we have the appropriate remedies within Oracle World," he continued.
One of the ways in which Oracle will help GITEX visitors find their ideal solution is by drawing on the company's considerable expertise and reach within the Middle East market. With customers ranging from banking leaders (Al Rajhi, Egyptian American Bank, National Bank of Dubai), to retailers (Dubai Duty Free, Al Shaya Group), and from manufacturers (Zamil Steel, Gulf Extrusions), to real estate developers (Al Ghurair, EMAAR, The Palm), Oracle Middle East has created an unmatched understanding of the region's business needs, and that knowledge base will be available to assist GITEX visitors to Oracle World.
In addition to previewing the new versions of the Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Database 10g, and the Oracle Collaboration Suite within Oracle's GITEX Sheikh Rashid hall, exhibition attendees can also take part in Oracle's more than 99 seminars, which will take place hourly during the five-day event. Topics will vary from business issues such as maximizing return on investment, to technology how-to sessions on building web services using the Oracle technology platform.
"A major challenge facing companies today is how to derive more functionality and benefits from their existing IT environments. Within Oracle World, we'll show our customers how to increase performance and further reduce costs, while potential end-users will find a range of solutions that are tailored to their organization's size and industry sector," Abouseif concluded.
Oracle World can be found in Sheilk Rashid Hall at GITEX 2004.
