Al Ghurair University announced that it is celebrating 41st National Day on 2nd of December.

"The 41st National Day marks the emergence of UAE as one of the advanced nations across the globe. Considering the critical importance of the continued availability of the home-grown human capital as a precondition for the economic growth and diversification, the AGU reiterates its commitment to empower the local talent, by exposing it to sophisticated modern education, to assume leadership positions. This would be greatly instrumental in further consolidating the momentum of UAE's growth trajectory and taking it to the commanding heights of development", said Professor Abdulrahim Mohammed Al Ameen, President, AGU in the celebrations held on its campus to commemorate the UAE's 41st National Day.

"In view of the increasing importance of exceeding the emiratization targets, the endeavors of the AGU at enriching the employability profile of the UAE youth, on a continuing basis, assume very great social relevance", he added. He also called upon one and all to further multiply their efforts to translate their love for the country into active and committed participation in the nation-building initiatives.

An Array of Spectacular Events:

The celebrations reflected the true Spirit of the Union instilled by the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his fellow founding fathers, exhibited the inspiring vision of the Rulers of the nations' Emirates, and highlighted the culture, heritage, and the identity of the UAE. Professor Abdulrahim Mohammed Al Ameen, President, AGU planted the Union Tree in the presence of a large gathering of Faculty Members, Staff, and Students.

A plethora of spectacular events and community-based activities were lined up, which comprised a bouquet of sports activities, well-equipped Emirati tents with a huge display of homemade traditional food, an innovative car decoration contest, a Photo Gallery and Interior Design Exhibition, and a cultural program presented by the students of Rabia Al-Adayia School, Sharjah.

Another highlight of the event was a walkathon by the Faculty Members, Staff, and students flying the national colors high, which was escorted by an attractive contingent of Mounted Horse Patrol of Dubai Police.

A musical band added to the mood of the participants as they played the traditional melodies. The entire campus of the University was adorned with UAE flags of all sizes. All the colleges and the Departments, which displayed the national colors, were enveloped in the festive mood.

Broad-based Participation:

Expressing happiness over the broad-based participation of different stakeholders in the National Day Celebrations, Professor Mohammed Khalifa, Vice President Academic Affairs, AGU said: "The collaboration and support of the Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Municipality, and Dubai Police in organizing the celebrations were not only a source of great inspiration but also added a distinct touch to the event and to its credibility. The enthusiastic participation by the AGU Faculty Members, staff, and the students, accompanied with their parents, in very large numbers, made the event much more memorable".
An Immense Joy for One and All, Including the Expatriates:

It was quite natural on the part of the UAE nationals to display great enthusiasm in making the National Day celebrations a super hit event. "Today is the most memorable day for us; it provides us a platform to exhibit our love for our country and loyalty for its leadership", felt many an Emirati national. "Our rulers' unique leadership style is characterized by strong altruistic and ethical overtones; they are attentive to the concerns of their people, empathize with them, take care of them, and nurture them", they added.

However, the unique highlight of the show was the equal amount of love and affection demonstrated by the expatriate faculty members, staff, and students of the AGU towards the UAE and the celebration of its National Day. "The UAE is a true home for expatriates where people representing different nationalities, religions, and backgrounds live together in perfect harmony and its National Day is a great occasion to be celebrated in a fitting way by every one of us, regardless of our nationalities", they felt unanimously.
