British chef Gordon Ramsay, who was awarded his fourth Michelin star this year, opening Verre, his first restaurant outside the UK at the Hilton Dubai Creek.
This represents a departure from the norm for international hotels as, in addition to Verre, Ramsay has hand-picked members of his London brigade, who will in turn oversee every aspect of catering in the lifestyle property, from the signature restaurant, through the other outlets including the Glasshouse Brasserie, Issimo and Carbon Lounge. What's more, guests need not head into the public areas of the hotel to sample Gordon's award-winning meals, as they can be ordered in the comfort of their own rooms.

The chef has personally overseen every minutiae of the development, from concept to launch. He has tasted every sauce and finalised every ingredient, and not just at the hotel's principal restaurant, Verre by Gordon Ramsay. Added to that, he will be making frequent trips to Dubai to play a hands-on role in direction to the kitchen.

No expense has been spared to create a working environment for a master chef and in the Hilton Dubai Creek, Gordon has an arena suitable for the most gifted and creative of chefs.

"When I saw the plans for the Hilton Dubai Creek, I immediately felt that this was the right place to have my first restaurant outside Britain," said Gordon. "I knew the work of the architect Carlos Ott from my days working in Paris opposite his Opéra de la Bastille. That was an inspiration."

Verre's cuisine will have the lightness that has become the hallmark of Gordon Ramsay. "We will be using a mix of the finest produce available in Dubai - particularly the fish - as well as flying in fresh ingredients from around the world. I want people to be able to eat three courses without having to lie down afterwards."

"We are excited to have Gordon and his team on board and we will make certain that we create the perfect Ramsay environment for our guests," said Guy Hutchinson, Manager of the Hilton Dubai Creek. "Together with our owners, we at Hilton International saw Gordon as the perfect accompaniment to this ground-breaking hotel. He is young and dynamic and one of the great chefs of the world.

"The presence of his hand-picked brigade will ensure that the food and service is of the highest quality - whether in the restaurants, or in the guest rooms. Also, just as in Gordon's restaurants in London, the cuisine will be complemented by the finest cellar, with well-informed sommeliers on hand to deliver the perfect addition to every meal."

The modern, five-star, lifestyle hotel will bring a new concept in hospitality to Dubai, offering an intimate, highly personalised style of service. Guests will experience an environment that is contemporary but has an understated elegance throughout.

Architect Carlos Ott, perhaps best known for his work on the Opéra de la Bastille in Paris and the National Bank of Dubai headquarters, has created the minimalist, avant-garde exterior of glass and stainless steel with a mix of glass, chrome, granite, black leather, steel and beechwood for the interiors.

The Hotel is located in the Dubai Creek business district and consists of 154 rooms and suites, each combining contemporary design with the highest levels of comfort and offering dramatic Creek views. The newly expanded Dubai International Airport and world-class leisure venues such as the Creek Golf Course are all located nearby.

The Hilton Dubai Creek will be managed by Hilton International, together with the recently opened Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, on behalf of its owners, Arenco Real Estate. Guests at the Hilton Dubai Creek will also be able to enjoy the beach and facilities of the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah.
