Germany's Pfaudler Werke, one of Europe's top manufacturers of glass lined reactor systems for the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, is to mount an assault on the expanding Middle East market for anti-corrosion technology.

A global market leader, Pfaudler Werke has identified the region as one of the fastest growing markets for its products, citing increasing interest in glass lined vessels from the oil and gas industries worried about the long term cost of corrosion.

"We foresee great opportunities to expand our market share, not just in the chemical and petrochemical sectors, but also in the fast developing pharmaceutical industry," said Bruno Stolz, Sales Manager, of Germany's Pfaudler Werke.

"Although our glass lined reactors were originally developed for the chemical industry, they can also be used by the pharmaceutical sector to produce ultra clean products to the highest international standards.

"Glass lined reactors are the first and best solution when a company has to deal with highly corrosive materials like acid. They offer the best protection against corrosion a customer can have," added Stolz.

Pfaudler Werke will be showcasing its latest product range, for the first time at a regional trade show, during Chemtex and Corrosion Middle East 2004, the Middle East's only international show for the chemical, petrochemical, chemical process technology, corrosion control and management industries. The company will also stage live demonstrations of the latest mixing solutions for glass lined reactors.

Organised by International Expo-Consults (IEC), the show will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC), from September 14-16.

"The use of glass lined reactors, in the region's chemical and petrochemical sectors, is relatively new. But as the market understands more and more about their usability and features demand is rapidly increasing. We expect to see a number of similar technologies and products at this year's show," said Mohammed Falaknaz, Vice President, IEC.
