McDonald's UAE sponsors the CSR workshops organized by Emirates Environmental Group

Capitalizing on its social responsibility initiatives, McDonald's UAE co-sponsors the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Network organized by Emirates Environmental Group (EEG).

The CSR Network consists of a series of workshops scheduled accordingly on 12-13 September, 29 November and the last week of December 2004. The first workshop held on 24th May covered Environmental Management and Recycling. Subsequent workshops will address environmental law, Eco-tourism, and CSR in the Middle East.

Commenting on the workshops, Habiba Al Marashi, Chairperson of the EEG said; "CSR and environmental issues are gaining an ever-greater audience in the Middle East. The workshops are the best opportunity for companies to share best practice or to form partnerships with organizations from other sectors." Habiba added; "We thank McDonald's UAE for the continuous support they provide for EEG, and for sponsoring our workshops."

According to Rafic Fakih, Managing Director for McDonald's UAE; "McDonald's in the Middle East was the first to issue a social responsibility report. We are proud to sponsor the EEG workshops, and proud to be an active member in the group."
