Intel showcases digital living in Kuwait

Titled "Enjoy The Digital Lifestyle at Home" the display visited Virgin Mega Store in Marina Mall from the 7 to 9 of July, giving consumers the opportunity to experience the benefits of desktop and notebook computers based on the latest Intel technologies.

The digital home showcase environment was constructed to look like a real-life lounge, where a desktop computer, based on the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with Hyper-Threading Technology was connected to a variety of devices to feature various usage models and give visitors a feel for a possible concept of the digital home. Notebook computers based on the Intel® Centrino™ mobile technology demonstrated how a new generation of high performance, sleek portable, low weight PCs with extended battery life, can give families and road-warriors more choice and flexibility in their computing activities.

"The concept of the digital home is one where we unlock the content that we have on the PC and share it across the home, and over multiple devices" said Sam Al-Schamma, Intel's General Manager for the Gulf region. "We are hoping that this roadshow will show families how they are able to spend quality time using their home PC for a variety of tasks, where one member of the family can surf the web or play a game, when another is wirelessly listening to music or streaming pictures from the PC to the TV screen. People have been taking digital pictures and downloading music off the web for a while now, and our new technologies will give them more flexibility to enjoy and share this content".

Recently, Intel announced a range of new products marking one of the most significant changes to the PC in a decade. The new technologies will help 'soup up' the average home PC for a better home entertainment experience. Audio and video capabilities previously only found in tailor made specialist PCs will now be available, off the rack in high street PC stores.

New nervous system and brain for the PC
Making all this possible are three new Intel® Express chipsets - chipsets are the nervous system in the PC, linking all the different internal components together - and several new Intel® Pentium® 4 processors supporting Hyper-Threading Technology - the processor is the silicon brain inside the PC.

These technologies are helping to create a new kind of PC, an all-in-one "hi-fi" device with high-definition video, high-fidelity sound and wireless connectivity. These PCs will also support some of the new technologies emerging in the consumer entertainment space like High Definition TV (HDTV) and 7.1 surround sound , ensuring you stay one step ahead of the posse!
