Adventureland at Sahara Centre, Sharjah gets safety approval

Adventureland at the Sahara Centre, Sharjah has been certified safe by an official of an international inspection company based in the US.

The safety inspection conducted weeks before the formal launch was in addition to safety checks done by a rides inspection team which ensured that all rides and equipments were properly installed.

"As a world-class family entertainment centre, Adventureland is ensuring the public of a 100% safe environment. The past few weeks prior to its soft-opening last Feb. 20 have seen Adventureland visited by a reputable international inspection company," said Mr Glenn Figueroa, Managing Partner of Fun Exchange Corporation.

Mr. Dennis Sutherland, Safety Inspector for over 20 years at International Leisure Consulting, Inc., (ILC) a certified member of NARSO (National Association of American Rides and Safety Officials) said, safety and security measures have been conducted for two weeks to ensure that customers have a good time.

The standards of evaluation were based on rides manufacturers standards and acceptable industry standards.

"Aside from the excellent mix of rides that you can find in the centre, the technology is state-of-the-art and equipments are all new which guarantees a high degree of comfort level," said Mr. Sutherland.

Mr. Figueroa said, quality and safety assurance are the more serious aspects of the trade that "we do not intend to take lightly. Aside from inviting a reputable inspection agency in the US, all our operators, majority of whom are experienced in the industry are being trained, updated and equipped with latest information and technology especially in operations and equipment maintenance."

"We are taking all these extra steps to ensure that we meet world-class expectations and give our guests 100% assurance of safety and security."

Mr. Figueroa further states that ILC will do regular safety inspection to ensure that all requirements and guidelines are strictly implemented.

One of the major attractions of Adventureland, the first indoor water flume ride is the region boasts of a two-hill winding water channels that goes through over 150 feet of wild water track and drops from a height of nine feet.

Adventureland, with over 70,000 square foot of indoor entertainment space boasts of over 20 rides and attractions, more than a hundred electronic games and many more novel and world-class features and facilities.

Mr. Shahram Foroughi, Chairman of Fun Exchange Corporation said, "One of the distinctions of Adventureland as an entertainment center is that it is positioned to be the most complete, the biggest and the most updated family entertainment center in the UAE and the Gulf in terms of facilities, technology and overall design."
