DAMAC Properties names main contractor for The Waves

The maim contractor working on the construction of the structure of DAMAC Properties second free hold property on Dubai Marina, The Waves, was appointed as pilling work for the two towers overlooking the Arabian Gulf waters is completed.

Peter Riddoch, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) DAMAC Properties, stated that Al Meraikki General Contracting was selected as the main contractor of the project, pointing out that construction work on the site of the Waves, located opposite Sheraton Beach Hotel in Umm Suqueim area, was going according to schedule.

"Piling is completed and we are now working on the basement level. We have also awarded several large subcontracts to support the on-going construction," explained Riddoch who said that Al Meraikhi Construction would handle the construction of both towers of the project on a total area of 60,103 square meters.

He said Juma Al Majd establishment was awarded the Mechanical, Electrical and plumbing (MEP) works for The Waves as well as the installation of elevators at the property.

"We have also awarded Darviche Haddad the post tensioning work for the project and all our subcontractors are on site to ensure that work is progressing smoothly and efficiently."

He added that The Waves features two buildings, the first a 10 strorey tower offering 86 apartments while the second tower stands 25 floors high and features 161 flats.

"The building offers one, two and three bedrooms flats and penthouses and all the units in the property have been sold out."

Offering a wealth of five star amenities, lush green walkways, restaurants and a shopping boulevard, The Waves, is the third property under construction by DAMAC and the seventh in a list of luxurious towers developed across mater plan development projects in Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Jebel Ali and Jumeirah Palm Islands and the Dubai International Financial Centre.
