Pure Gold sales rocket by 52.5 per cent from 2003

Pure Gold Jewellers, LLC, announced a dramatic increase of over 52.5 per cent in sales for the first half of 2004 compared to last year's company statistics.

A key player in the UAE's gold and jewellery market, Pure Gold attributes its highest sales to the demand for quality diamond jewellery and noted the commendable efforts of the World Gold Council (WGC) in promoting Gold very strategically this year.

"Pure Gold positioned itself correctly in the minds of consumers by launching a successful marketing campaign based on the beauty of gold in nature," said Karim Merchant, Managing Director of Pure Gold. "In addition, our wide variety of designs combined with of increased amount of visitors to Dubai has positively influenced sales, effectively strengthening the gold and jewellery industry in the UAE."

Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group recently honored Pure Gold with the Star Performer Award for being a leader in retail promotional activity over the past two years in the jewellery industry. In addition, the company's achievement of the ISO 9001:2000 accreditation for international standards in quality management makes it the first and only business in the Middle East jewellery retail industry to have complied to and achieved such a noteworthy endorsement.

With a positive outlook for the remainder of the fiscal year, Pure Gold has 3 new stores opening in the second half of 2004 and many more on the books for 2005 including outlets in the Mall of the Emirates and Garden Mall. "The shops most recently launched in Sharjah give us the opportunity to cater to the residents of that Emirate," commented Merchant. "Similarly, our Abu Dhabi shop scheduled to open its doors in August 2004 is due to the demand of regular customers who want our products in their city."

The Pure Gold boutique at Madinat Jumeirah, due to open August 2004, will focus on the Jumeirah International clientele and other international tourists offering a uniquely Arabian-themed store.

"The expansion taking place in the next two years is in line with our aim to open 25 stores in the UAE by 2006, including our second store at Deira Gold Souk this September" affirmed Merchant. "Leading the way with the largest collection of gold jewellery in the city at our Fahidi Street and Gold Centre store, the future looks bright."
