The British University in Dubai welcomes prospective students

To accommodate the significant number of queries it is receiving from prospective students, The British University in Dubai (BUiD) has extended the opening hours of its administration office.
BUiD will open its doors to students in September 2004, when both full- and part-time courses will commence. As a research-based university, it provides a unique opportunity for post-graduate education and for the development of the region's knowledge economy. Partnerships with the University of Edinburgh, the University of Birmingham and UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology) also ensure that BUiD offers the best in British education standards.
Commenting on the new opening hours David J. Lock, Registrar and Acting Chief Executive said, "Pursuing a graduate degree is a serious investment in one's future. By extending our office hours we will give prospective students more opportunity and time to make a well informed decision."

About The British University in DubaiThe British University in Dubai (BUiD) is the Middle East's first research-based university. The university was established to facilitate access to world-class education, training and research in the Middle East. BUiD aspires to the highest, internationally recognised British standards as reflected in its partnership with The University of Edinburgh, The University of Birmingham and The University of Manchester Institute of Science (UMIST). Each has a five or five-star rating in the UK national research assessment that signifies research of international standard.
The not-for-profit university will offer full and part time masters degree programmes and Continuing Professional Development courses in Informatics, Engineering and Education starting from September 2004.

The founders of the University are the Al Maktoum Foundation, The Dubai Development and Investment Authority, Rolls Royce, the British Business Group and the National Bank of Dubai. The University is managed by a provisional council under the chairmanship of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
Emirates Group recently announced its support for the University by partnering through a financial contribution.
