The event, the second in the Iraq Procurement series, will follow on from the success of the inaugural meeting, which took place in London, UK in April. It is felt that bringing Iraq Procurement to the Middle East will offer the opportunity for more companies from the region to take their places alongside their global contemporaries, and to meet with representatives from the new Iraqi government.

Iraq Procurement 2004 - 'Meet the Buyers' focuses on face-to-face meetings with Iraqi business leaders, government ministers and decision makers, providing opportunities to form partnering agreements and secure products and services to aid in the rebuilding of Iraq.

The launch reception will inform key players about the initiative and the opportunities associated with the event. Representation will come from the office of His Majesty The King of Jordan, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Tourism, heads of chambers of commerce, ambassadors from Iraq, the UK and the US, the Iraq Development Centre, trade representatives from embassies in Jordan and business leaders from around the world.
