eCompany EIM Mail Service to offer free anti-virus facility
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, July 17 - 2004 at 11:15
- PRESS RELEASE
eCompany, Etisalat's one-stop e-powerhouse business unit, announced that its mail anti-virus facility would now be offered at no charge for two years instead of one.
Noting the significance of the anti-virus facility, Mr. Abdulla Hashim, Senior Manager for Business Development and Marketing, eCompany, said: "The free anti-virus solution has been very useful to our 450,000 plus e-mail subscribers as it has detected more than 67 million virus infected emails since December 2003. Keeping it free for subscribers for a year more than originally intended demonstrates our commitment to enhance their e-mail experience."
Powered by the McAfee anti-virus solution, a globally recognised brand, the facility has reduced the number of virus-infected emails reaching eCompany subscribers. It removes viruses at the network level, before they reach the customers' eCompany EIM Mail service inbox. To provide the most comprehensive protection, viruses are removed rather than simply cleaned. To ensure customer satisfaction, customers can opt to receive the original e-mail with a message informing them that a virus has been removed. They also have the option of enabling or disabling the anti-virus service and notification.
