TBWA ranks clear number one at Cannes Advertising Festival

Leading advertising agency group TBWA has scooped top honors at the prestigious Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival making it the top international agency across Film, Press/Outdoor, Cyber, Direct and Media.

Sister companies DDB and BBDO also made it a clear trifecta for their holding group Omnicom by ranking second and third behind TBWA in the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival top rankings.

TBWA commanded a total of 175 points and 33 awards at Cannes with TBWA's holding company, the Omnicom Group, gaining a staggering 534 points (109 Lions - see footnote) from its 3 main agency networks - TBWA, DDB (154 points) and BBDO (141 points).

TBWA\RAAD Middle East, which names Nissan, Emirates Airline, Beiersdorf, adidas-Salomon, and National Bank of Abu Dhabi among its key clients, congratulated its Global Network for this runaway success which was recognised in every category of the Festival.

TBWA\RAAD CEO Ramzi Raad said: "The Advertising Festival is the highest recognition in our field and TBWA and Omnicom Group's winning work has managed to further raise the creative bar for the industry worldwide. It is a proud achievement for all TBWA and Omnicom creative teams and management."

• TBWA\Paris was named "Agency of the Year" - for the second year in a row - for winning more Gold Lions in the press than any other agency

About Cannes Lions rankings

Cannes Lions media affiliate Ad Age scaled the industry rankings via award wins and a points system. As a part of this tally, a Grand Prix awards counts as 10 points, a Gold Lion as 7, a Silver as 5, and a Bronze as 3. Media Lions are weighted as Silver Lions (5 points). TBWA won an impressive total of 175 points. DDB came in second with 154 points, and BBDO 141 points.
