Jordan summer promotions focus on the Kingdom's distinctive spa, scenery and weather offering
- Jordan: Monday, July 19 - 2004 at 16:45
- PRESS RELEASE
The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), the Kingdom's official marketing organization, has recently launched a series of exciting summer packages.
"People normally recall Petra and Jerash when they think of Jordan, but we have so much more to offer than our renowned archaeological heritage. Our spa holiday offering has developed tremendously over the past couple of years to answer for the rising global trend of pursuing a healthier way of living," said Marwan Khoury, Managing Director of the JTB.
JTB's campaigns center on two of Jordan's unique selling points. The first is based on encouraging families and friends to take advantage of the wellness and health spas in Jordan, and in particular the Dead Sea, with a promise of the ultimate luxury and pampering. JTB's second campaign revolves around its fantastic weather, beautiful scenery, breathtaking desert oasis, waterfalls and fantastic sights - all aimed at luring families away from the harsh conditions of the summer in the Gulf.
Jordan's Spa experience at the Dead Sea, which is already regarded as one of the top ten spa resorts in the world, was the country's main focus at the Arabian Travel Market 2004 (ATM), the premier travel and tourism show in the Middle East held recently in Dubai. With the full understanding that the spas of today should be more diverse, Jordan has embarked on various development projects that feature health and fitness as well as beauty, thus presenting to the visitor a unique in-depth relaxing experience.
The Dead Sea, a tranquil spot at the lowest point on earth, is renowned for its therapeutic, relaxing and revitalizing benefits. In addition to the treatment of various medical conditions such as psoriasis, visitors to the Dead Sea come away with an unforgettable swimming experience, as the high salt density of the water makes sinking virtually impossible.
A destination for all seasons, Jordan is blessed with a Mediterranean climate for pleasurable year-round travel. Amman is sunny and cloudless from May to early November, with average temperatures around 23 Centigrade (73 F).
"There's never been a better time to visit Jordan. Its diversity as a tourism destination makes a unique and unforgettable experience. With renowned Five-star luxury hotels, competitive prices a string of fantastic sights, natural attractions and beautiful weather, Jordan certainly offers the ideal comprehensive holiday package for families in the Gulf," added Khoury
