- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, July 20 - 2004 at 13:03
- PRESS RELEASE
ICICI Infotech (MEA), a leading Enterprise Management Solutions company has successfully completed an extensive project with Canon Middle East, the standardization of Canon Middle East's regional operations on an integrated ERP II solution incorporating Orion's collaboration components.
Canon Middle East's initial requirement encompassed a web based warranty tracking system for their partners in the Middle East, enabling them to simply log in through the Internet and place, check and validate their warranty claims. This soon evolved into a need for an effective integrated enterprise information solution to streamline the company's regional business processes including sales forecasting, monitoring of costs, inventory, purchase and distribution cycles.
Hence, the decision to go with a complete ERP II solution by deploying Orion, including its collaboration component, into a single streamlined system. The project from conceptualization to completion has been closely followed by Canon's EMBU headquarters in Amsterdam.
"We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to play such a critical role in enhancing Canon Middle East's business operations in the region, by providing them with an end-to-end business management solution. The successful implementation
of the extended capabilities of Orion at Canon Middle East will provide them a competitive advantage in terms of their service offering to their customers in the region whilst experiencing significant cost savings on the bottom line," said HariPadmanabhan, Executive Director & President, ICICI Infotech Ltd. "We understood Canon Middle East's needs to have the right web based warranty tracking system integrated with a scalable and effective enterprise information solution for their operations in the Middle East and we customized our Orion and Crossroads solution offering to cater to those needs."
"Our decision to adopt ICICI Infotech's Orion and Crossroads integrated solution for the regional operation was simple. We were impressed with the advanced features of the solution offering and felt that it would provide us with the necessary tools to achieve our business objectives," said Gordon Jones, President, Canon Middle East. "Canon continuously strives to provide its customers and partners with a personal, timely and effective service. To ensure this, we needed to provide our employees with an advanced, comprehensive and scalable information management solution that possesses web features, allowing real-time access to critical information resulting in efficient service schedules, shortened lead times between sales order and delivery."
The Orion and Crossroads integrated solution boasts a flexible design with scalable features providing Canon Middle East with e-business capabilities, supporting its requirements today and scaling instantly to support advanced e-business capabilities into the future. With this solution, Canon Middle East's employees, customers and partners will have one interface to work with, whether they are working on internal business processes or handling customer orders, partner warranty claims, order placements on the extranet or processing transactions.
An estimated 60 users at Canon Middle East will benefit directly from the Orion implementation based at two locations, the head office which houses the sales, marketing & finance department and the warehouse responsible for the inventory and logistics process handling, and its external component will cover their partners over the region.
