An international panel of hoteliers, designers and consultants met in Cairo recently to assess the entries and draw up a shortlist of nominations across fifteen categories. Emirates Towers Hotel was nominated in four categories; 'Outstanding Hotel of the Year', 'Business Hotel of the Year', 'Executive Floor of the Year' and 'Hotel Employer of the Year'. The awards, sponsored by international hotel interior contractors Depa Hotel Interiors, attracted over 110 individual entries from five-star hotels across the Middle East. The Depa Middle East Hotel Awards were launched in 2001 in Dubai, and are now recognised as one of the leading events in the international hotel industry calendar.

The award-winning Emirates Towers Hotel, already a landmark in Dubai and dominating the skyline since its completion two years ago, is strategically located in the central business district of Dubai, next to the World Trade Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road, and adjacent to the Trade Centre Exhibition Halls.

The 400 - room hotel is, at 305 metres high, the third tallest hotel in the world while the adjacent Office Tower is the tallest building in the Middle East at 350 metres. The 51-storey towers, connected by the Emirates Towers Shopping Boulevard, are a dramatic backdrop to Dubai's central business district and a highly visible statement of the region's corporate success.

During its first two years of operation, Emirates Towers Hotel was acclaimed as the 'World's Leading Business Hotel' at the World Travel Awards ceremony in 2000 and scooped the award in that same category again in 2001. In addition the hotel was recognised as the 'Middle East's Leading Conference Hotel' during the World Travel Awards ceremony in April last year. Emirates Towers Hotel was also voted 'Best Business Hotel in the Middle East' during the Travel Intelligence Middle East "Achieving Industry Excellence 2001 Awards" ceremony and received the Award for 'Best Hotel in the Middle East' during the Business Traveller Awards Ceremony in Germany in February this year.

Easily accessible and just 15 minutes from Dubai International Airport, Emirates Towers Hotel is designed for the modern business community. The property has proved to be one of the leading corporate hotels in the world during its first two years of operation.

World-class facilities include 16 restaurants, bars and lounges each with a distinctive décor and atmosphere, a 24-hour health club with fully equipped gymnasium, sauna, steam bath, massage room and an outdoor swimming pool. In addition the hotel offers an around-the-clock business centre providing complete secretarial services and extensive conference and meeting facilities with 25 boardroom-style function rooms, a 2200 sqm ballroom and pre-function area as well as a garden events area that can seat 3000 guests in comfort.
