Dubai Hotel Show 2005 moves to DIEC

It is the essential showcase for hotel and hospitality products, services and technologies. 306 companies from 33 countries, including 9 national pavilions, took part in the Hotel Show 2004. 5,640 professional visitors represented an increase of 14% compared to 2003.

During the past three years, this successful trade fair has been managed by the Streamline team on behalf of dmg world media Dubai Ltd, who have now taken the management of the show in-house. Ms Maggie Moore has been appointed show manager.

The demand for space from suppliers in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East - all keen to do business in the most buoyant hotel and leisure markets in the world - means that the exhibition has outgrown the Airport Expo venue. The Hotel Show 2005 will now take place at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, where it will occupy three halls, from 22 - 24 May 2005.

With the UAE leading the way, business and tourist destinations throughout the Arabian Gulf are urgently seeking professional assistance, products, services and equipment to support their ambitious development plans. Across the region, the number of hotels has increased from 978 in 2001 to 1,391 in 2003, with rooms increasing from 86,677 up to 183,921 (+212%) in the same period.

In Dubai alone, plans are in place for 150 new hotels, which will increase the number of hotel rooms to over 55,000 over the next five years. Tourist traffic is expected to surge to 15 million per annum by 2005, from 4.7 million in 2002. World-wide, nowhere else can compare with the booming hospitality business in this Emirate.

The Hotel Show 2004 took place under the patronage of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman, Department of Tourism and Marketing. The event was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation.
