- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, July 27 - 2004 at 14:30
- PRESS RELEASE
The International Fleet Services network has extended its geographic reach to the Middle East with the appointment of HSBC Middle East Finance Company Limited (HSBC MEFCO), as its first representative company for the region, based in Dubai.
IFS currently operates 360,000 vehicles and employs 1,400 people in 20 countries throughout Europe, North America and the Middle East. It aims to foster the sharing of best practice between vehicle leasing companies and to provide its customers with a Global Service Charter, to provide international customers with an international network and to co-ordinate their global tenders and referrals, and to negotiate with manufacturers on pricing and policies.
Raymond O'Neil, Managing Director of HSBC MEFCO said, "We have expanded our services in the UAE to ensure that a wide range of asset finance solutions is available for our customers. In particular we have led the market by launching the first independent full maintenance lease for cars for our local and multinational customers."
He continued, " Joining International Fleet Services allows us to consolidate our leadership in the market. For instance we will be able to help customers now even before they establish in the Gulf region, and we can leverage off the agreements that have been negotiated internationally through IFS. The ability to share information and expertise with other IFS members will also help us develop our vehicle proposition further."
Steve Simpson, General Manager of IFS said "The appointment of HSBC MEFCO is a major step in strengthening IFS's capabilities, giving us true reach into an economically dynamic region, and one which is extremely important for our multinational customers."
