Shehzad Naqvi, Regional Head of Citibank for the Gulf, Levant and Pakistan, received the award from His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, at the Fourth National Career Exhibition for the Banking and Financial Sector, which Sheikh Sultan officially opened on March 17 at the Expo Centre Sharjah.
Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, UAE Minister for Communications and Chairman of the Human Resources Development Sector, also attended the awards ceremony.
Mr Shehzad Naqvi said: "This award is recognition of our confidence in local talent and the potential of the local workforce here in the UAE. Citibank recorded the largest growth in recruitment of UAE nationals in the banking sector in 2001 and is rightly proud of its human resources practices and training programmes."
Naqvi continued: "Citibank strongly believes that sustainable success depends on providing the right opportunities for local people. Thanks to Citibank, UAE nationals have grown in their careers and become genuine leaders in their respective fields."
