Citibank honoured for national employment drive

Citibank, a member of Citigroup, has received the Human Resources Development Award in recognition of its ongoing support of the UAE's 'Emiratisation' programme.
Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, UAE Minister for Communications and Chairman of the Human Resources Development Sector, also attended the awards ceremony.
Mr Shehzad Naqvi said: "This award is recognition of our confidence in local talent and the potential of the local workforce here in the UAE. Citibank recorded the largest growth in recruitment of UAE nationals in the banking sector in 2001 and is rightly proud of its human resources practices and training programmes."
Naqvi continued: "Citibank strongly believes that sustainable success depends on providing the right opportunities for local people. Thanks to Citibank, UAE nationals have grown in their careers and become genuine leaders in their respective fields."
