With direct daily flights from Dubai on Oman Air and from Abu Dhabi on Gulf Air combined with Salalah's distinctive monsoon climate, the resort is now gearing up for a bumper season.

"Salalah is the new destination of choice for many travellers from the Middle East, and in particular the Gulf," said Guy Epsom, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Hilton International, Arabian Peninsula. "During the hot summer months, Salalah's unusual monsoon rains create the Gulf's only truly cool getaway, and our resort is the perfect spot to enjoy this. Our special Khareef rate starts at OR 53 per room per night including breakfast."

Situated in Oman's southern Dhofar region, Salalah offers a feast for the eyes and the senses. It boasts unique historical monuments including Sumhurum - reputed to be the palace of the ancient "Queen of Saba", spectacular diving and deep sea fishing sites, magnificent white sandy beaches and warm, friendly people. For adventure lovers, Salalah is a haven for wildlife and nature tourism. This year, the Khareef Festival organisers have made special efforts to drive eco-tourism by highlighting guided tours into the depths of Salalah's tropical forests.

"All of this is within minutes of the comfort of our five star beach-front resort. Guests can wake up in the morning and decide to explore history and culture or just do nothing at all," explained Epsom.

The Hilton Salalah Resort features 147 spacious guestrooms and suites and two first-class restaurants. These include Al Maha, a casual blend of Mediterranean and Arabian cuisine with stunning ocean vistas, and Palm Grove, Oman's finest seafood restaurant boasting panoramic landscapes. The property also features four bars, a nightclub, heated swimming pool, children's pool, two floodlit tennis courts, beach volleyball and a fully equipped fitness centre with a health club, sauna massage and spa services.

To facilitate the inflow of tourism from the UAE, direct flights are available daily from Dubai to Salalah through Oman Air departing 12:25 UAE time. Meanwhile, Gulf Air operates direct daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Salalah departing 16:40 UAE time.
