Emirates Towers Hotel to host major international PR meet

The Institute for International Research (IIR) the organizers of the 49th Annual Conference for the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) has selected Emirates Towers Hotel as the official venue to stage its first IPRA meet in the Arabian Gulf this coming December 2004.
"Global communications are changing at a breathtaking rate, and it is appropriate that Dubai should be chosen by IPRA to host their 2004 event. Considered the media and communications hub of the region, Dubai is also pivotal to the regional development of the vital role public relations plays in the performance of organizations and individuals in both the private and public sectors", said Jessica Sutherland, General Manager of IIR.
More than 400 international public relations practitioners from five continents are expected to attend the event, sharing industry best practices, international trends and exchanging cultural views.
"The entire PR industry in the Middle East will benefit from the presence of an unrivalled line-up of over 38 regional and international speakers from as far a field as USA, Australia, UK, Sweden and Singapore. The conference promises to be a unique and unforgettable experience." added Sutherland.

The International Public Relations Association (IPRA), which has more than a thousand members from 98 countries, was founded in 1955 in London. It is active in promoting the exchange of information and co-operation in every sector of the profession, as well as in building a programme of professional development opportunities and other initiatives aimed at enhancing the role of public relations in management and international affairs.
The IPRA Annual Conference Dubai 2004 is supported by Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), Dubai Conventions Bureau and the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
