This is the first service of its kind in the Middle East, in support of the higher education sector.

The service, which is presented in cooperation with New Generation for Telecommunications and Software Solutions (NGT), enables students to find out their cumulative grade point average, their grades for all subjects, or the grade for a specific subject, the hall number, the name of the lecturer, the hall for a specific stream, the lecturer for a specific stream, the registrar, and other information at any time, anywhere, as soon as the information is published.

On this occasion, Fastlink CEO and General Manager Mohammad Saqer said that, in view of the importance of higher education in the Kingdom, Fastlink sought to provide this service to address the needs of this vital sector, and to serve students by giving them easy access to the information that hey need, such as the times of their lectures and their cumulative grade point average.

University President Dr. Ziad Ramadan, said that students can now inquire about a number of services and the answers are presented to them through SMS messages that reach the student's mobile phones instantly, at any time, anywhere.

Fastlink has ties with a number of educational and student activities at a number of universities. It trains a number university students to give them technical, administrative, and marketing experience, and it equipped two computer labs at the new building of the Arab Academy for Financial and Banking Sciences.

Saqer stressed the importance of preparing the educational system to become capable of creating students who can find their place in building the future. Saqer said that Fastlink is in the process of designing a number of training programs for graduates from Jordanian universities, and that it already trains 300 students.

Saqer added that Fastlink will sign similar agreements with a number of Jordanian universities, and that it plans to raise the number of trainees in cooperation with universities, to provide students with the practical experience that they need to face the requirements of the job market.

Fastlink signed an agreement earlier this year, with the Ministry of Education to develop and computerize the science syllabus, in the context of Jordan's initiative to develop the education sector.

Fastlink is the first Jordanian company to adopt a comprehensive syllabus in the context of the initiative, at a cost of JD 1.2 million. The project was outsourced to Rubicon, a company that specializes in education and e-learning, which will work to computerize the syllabus, redraft it, and produce it electronically from the first grade until the tawjihi (school leaving exam) in 18 months.

"This step complements and highlights the pioneering role that Fastlink plays in serving all sectors of Jordanian society. Fastlink, since its creation, undertook to play an active role to contribute to the process of social and economic development in the Kingdom. It now works to be part of developing the educational sector by using the most modern pedagogic programs and technology," concluded Saqer.
