Nine days into the Back-2-School Exhibition, and it is fast becoming a magnet for anxious parents and eager children awaiting the new school year.
"We are seeing an average of more than 2,000 visitors daily, and we expect that number to keep rising before the exhibition ends on August 27," Suhail said. "Everything a family needs for the school season is available here at great prices, from stationery products to books, bags, shoes and other accessories."
Organised by the DSS Office in cooperation with 3B United Advertising LLC, the Back-2-School Exhibition is expected to play a major role in reintroducing study concepts to the young revellers of DSS who will be heading back to school in the next three to four weeks.
Workshops at the Back-2-School exhibition run from 4 pm to 10 pm everyday until Friday, August 27, the last day of DSS 2004. Al Jazeera Eggs, Diamond Company, Noor Oil, Al Safa and Gulf Dairies Co. have sponsored these workshops especially for children. The workshops on healthy eating aim to educate kids about the importance of eating healthy breakfast and also preparing the perfect morning breakfast to pack their school bags with for maximum nutrition.
The dental workshop organised by Dr. Laila Hariri is definitely a must-see. This workshop will be held twice a week for two hours, and focuses on educating children on how to brush their teeth the right way and on how to effectively use various tools to clean their teeth properly. A large screen has been installed where kids can watch a presentation by Dr. Laila Hariri on how to maintain teeth and keep them healthy.
On Mondays, visitors to the exhibition can learn about healthy breakfasts; on Tuesday, the healthy dental habits workshop will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday and on Thursday, cereals and cornflakes are the themes of the day. The Back-2-School Exhibition is open from 10 am to 10 pm daily, and from 3 pm to 10 pm on Fridays.
