Mazaya Centre, one of the city's newest malls on the Sheikh Zayed road, has seen its fortunes boosted by the advent of this year's Dubai Summer Surprises.

The mall has not only been an active participant in the Dubai Shopping Malls Group promotions - including the popular 'Win a Dream' weekly raffle - but has also drawn more visitors to its premises with the opening of several new anchor stores including Homes R Us and the upcoming Brands boutique.

Myra Searle, retail manager at Mazaya Centre, said outlets within the mall had also started their own in-house offers and sales to coincide with DSS, offering customers the best of both worlds.

"We have shown huge increases in sales this year compared to last year's figures, and that trend is definitely increasing every month. Our records for July, for example, were a significant step up from our June numbers." Searle said. "One major contributing factor is the opening of a new anchor tenant - Homes R Us -whereas we were trading on only 54 percent of mall space this time last year."

The mall continues to remain a favourite with UAE residents, primarily because of its convenient location on the national highway. Although there has been a slight dip in sales in the early part of August, Searle said, in keeping with the summer trend, but the mall expects to see a matching increase in sales in the last weeks of DSS. Looking ahead to the next Dubai Summer Surprises, Searle said Mazaya Centre would be keen to host even more activities and events in the mall.
