markets of the UAE and the region, send a clear message that the wireless revolution is showing no signs of slowing down."

"Studies have shown that mobile phone users have outnumbered fixed line subscribers in the Middle East and the rapid penetration in countries such as the UAE offers companies a major opportunity to seek out new ways to reach out to larger audiences through the wireless medium," Dahabra added.

Hosam Sokkari, Head of bbcarabic.com added: "The BBC enjoys a wide audience in the Middle East and our network of correspondents across the globe gives us quick access to breaking stories. We see immense potential in delivering news through the SMS channels because the mobile phone has become the constant companion of most people and offers several advantages over conventional delivery channels, such as assured read, targeted recipients, wireless and uncomplicated delivery mode as well as ability to receive information at any destination."
