Arab Photographers' Union concludes training course on Digital Photography

In cooperation with the Dubai Press Club, the Arab Photographers' Union organized a training course on Digital Photography at the Press Club from 7-11 August, 2004.

Participants were awarded certificates at the end of the week long training course.

Sponsored by Kodak, and conducted by Saleh Al Refaii, Professor of Photography at the University of Lebanon and Head of Artistic Photography Association in Lebanon, this course is the first on the Union's agenda after the current changes that included the relocation of the Union's Head Quarters to Dubai, the restructuring of its procedures and launch of the new logo.

Qasim Al Hammady, the Head of the Union said, "Many changes have been discussed and executed by the Union's executive office lately such as the programme of the Union and the organization of a number of events that will definitely boost the activities of the Photographers' Union."

He added, "The workshop trained both amateur and professional photographers the basics of digital photography and its related aspects including new techniques and developments in the field."

The Head Quarters of the Arab Photographers' Union is based at the Dubai Press Club. The initiative is part of the Press Club's ongoing commitment to support the regional journalists working in the different spheres of the media.

The Arab Photographers' Union supports and markets the works of its members besides hosting regular events such as seminars and workshops. The Arab Photographers Union also works to ensure the right to freedom of expression of photographers and their safety.
